Housing industry careers news: This week’s Movers & Shakers

We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Jo Bennett, McCarthy Stone

Leading retirement community development, McCarthy Stone, has announced that Jo Bennett has been appointed as its new chief financial officer.

Jo was most recently chief business officer at Pizza Express where she was responsible for Finance, Legal, IT, Property, the value creation plan, business transformation and the supply chain. Jo’s strong financial background also comes from having spent time as a director at KKR Capstone and at TPG Capital, where her remit was to drive value creation throughout the life of the investments.

Lindsey Anderson, Amy Brown, Greg Carter, Liam Hale, Ashley Pappin and Matt Steinbrecher, Winckworth Sherwood

Lindsey Anderson, Amy Brown, Greg Carter, Liam Hale, Ashley Pappin and Matt Steinbrecher were all promoted to partner in April. The firm now has 74 partners and over 297 staff across its offices in London, Oxford and Manchester.

Greg Scrivens, Rendall & Rittner

Property management agent, Rendall & Rittner, has recently appointed Greg Scrivens as its new technical services manager. Greg’s role will see him provide technical expertise on a range of issues, including technical consultancy and new business mobilisation across Rendall & Rittner’s extensive portfolio.

Having worked in various engineering management roles for a multi-national grains, oils and food company, Greg first entered the property management sector in 2013 keen to pursue a new challenge. Working across multiple sites with a variety of different needs, Greg was able to utilise his wealth of transferable skills whilst developing a detailed understanding of the complexity of building service requirements.

Jonathan Wallace, Lichfields

UK planning and development consultancy Lichfields has appointed Jonathan Wallace as its new chair, taking over the reins from Justin Gartland.

Jonathan, a senior director and board member, has previously led the company’s Newcastle office and brings 30 years of planning experience into the role.

Alicia Hattersley, Avant Homes

Avant Homes has promoted Alicia Hattersley to the position of group head of marketing in just over a year since she joined the business.

Alicia was hired by the housebuilder as group marketing manager from Gleeson Homes where she was brand and communications manager for two-and-a-half years. Since joining the company she has led a brand refresh, delivered an entirely new consumer and corporate website as well as playing a pivotal role in enhancing marketing and sales processes.

Ronak Rawal, GAA

Strategic consulting service, Global Apartment Advisors (GAA), has appointed Ronak Rawal as senior director. Ronak will be responsible for the strategic development, planning and delivery of GAA’s consulting services as well as the firm’s day-to-day operations.

Ronak joins GAA from his position as strategic leader for Tesco, one of the world’s largest retailers, adding his unique skills and vision to the GAA team’s 25+ years of rental housing industry experience.

David Brown, Miller Homes

Miller Homes has appointed David Brown as managing director to help lead its Southern region’s next period of growth. David, who has worked within the housing industry for his entire 24-year career to-date, having previously worked at includes Westbury Homes, George (Taylor) Wimpey, Berkeley, and Crest Nicholson in multiple senior land and managerial positions within those businesses.
